Sorry - New BBC Assessment Piece, finally!

Another week, another assessment - this time for Abode Illustrator, rather than Photoshop.
Still on the BBC. Chose the Electric Proms rather than the radio this time. I'M SO PROUD OF IT! Never done anything like it before.

NEW POST! BBC stuff!

For your delight and approval, two examples (portrait and landscape) Of how one page of a BBC radio IPhone app would possibly look. I went for a simple design which was quick to modify from portrait to landscape and I think it looks rather snazzy!

A sentence made from itself...

As a follow up to last weeks project, we were told to take a line from a poem or song etc, and photographed in the same way as the words we did last week. We also had to remember what we learned from other peoples shots...
This means it had to look almost naturally formed...
I had no clue what to do, I couldn't think of any quotes that fit, then Keith mentioned the theme tune to M*A*S*H - "Suicide Is Painless"
It's a bit morbid, but it fits what I learned, I hope. I like how it turned out!

Words in real life...

As well as make words from themselves, we had to photograph words found in real life.
Immediately, I thought of Rene Walrus (sells lots of swarovski crystals)

As I was going to Rene Walrus, I came across this kilt shop, Apparently it's a Scottish toast, but I prefered "Walrus".

Words made of themselves...

For our first term time project, we were told to take a photo of a word... MADE from something to do with ITSELF.
We had a lot of cake left, so i thought that would be an easy option.
Sadly, the final image wasn't as good as i would have thought.

Then i remembered that Sam had bought me a pineapple for my birthday, so I cut it up and made THIS!

This is the photo I actually used, but it could've been better if i had done it as if the word had occured naturally, or accidentally.
If I could do it again, I'd smash it on the floor and write the word in it's mushy remains.

Ahhh the wonders of the first post...

Right, I've been told that perhaps starting a blog would be a good idea for uni, so that's what I'm doing.
I've just taken and modified the picture I plan to use for our first project. It's a bit rubbish, because I wanted it to be of a female, and it had to be someone I could imitate - so not Keira Knightley then.
But then I found that I don't admire any females whose pictures I could imitate except P!nk. And she's blonde. And I can't pull of her facial expressions (not that my expression in the piece i chose is much better but still)
I was going to do Queen, but I can't get the lighting right. So I was in complete and utter despair, having only one day to actually take the damn thing... So I did Bowie.
TADAAA!!
